Spud Fest Parade
June 24, 2023

Picture
It’s that time of year again! The Big Lake Spud Fest parade is fast approaching.
We invite you to be a part of the fun.

This year’s parade will be held June 24, 2023.
Line up begins at 9:00 a.m. and no one will be allowed onto Eagle Lake Road after 10:00 a.m.
The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. SHARP.

Groups with large numbers of people should meet some where before 9:00 a.m. (Good place is the high school parking lot near the flagpole.) and enter the lineup together using just the parade vehicle. The route will be the same as years past, down Eagle Lake Road starting at Park Avenue turning onto Minnesota Ave. and ending on Minnesota Ave. Take down will take place in front of Independence Elem.
Royalty and Rock on Trucks (ONLY) will be directed to continue down Minnesota Ave to County Road 43 to loop around and into the High School parking lot using the bus lane.
Just a reminder on our candy policy as you plan your entry. If candy is to be distributed, it is to be handed out by those walking with your entry, not thrown from your float or vehicle. Our intent is not to discourage you from giving out candy; in fact, the kids look forward to it. Safety, however, must be our priority.
To reduce the amount of garbage the parade generates, distribution of flyers, posters, stickers, etc. is not permitted unless it is attached to an item in which it will not blow away and be left behind. Thank you for honoring this policy.
To help reduce the cost of putting on the parade, there will be a $35.00/per unit (1truck & trailer) and $10.00 per additional unit entry fee. There will be judges there and cash prizes will be awarded for the best all-around floats. First place will receive $100.00, second place will receive $75.00, and third place will receive $50.00, so be creative.
Please return this entry form with the complete details of your entry and payment by June 10th.
LATE ENTRIES WILL BE AT THE END OF THE LINE UP.
You will be notified no later than June 19, 2023, of the number and line-up information.
